AI visibility checklist for local businesses

Twelve checks that decide whether an assistant can find and describe you correctly.

By CoreTxt · Updated October 9, 2026

AI visibility depends on whether assistants can identify your business, find consistent details about it, read your pages and see other sources agree. This checklist covers twelve basics you can check yourself.

Identity

  • Same name everywhere. Your business name is written the same way on your site, Google Business Profile and directories.
  • One address, phone and set of hours. No old numbers or closed locations still listed.
  • A clear about page. It says who you are, where you operate and what you do.

Website

  • Home page says what you do and where in the first screen of text.
  • One page per main service, each answering the questions customers ask.
  • Structured data for your organization or local business, matching the visible page.
  • Crawlers allowed. Your robots.txt does not block the search and AI crawlers you want, and your sitemap is submitted.
  • Pages load fast and show their main text without needing to click or scroll scripts.

Trust and mentions

  • Recent reviews on the platforms your customers use.
  • Listings in relevant directories and industry or local lists.
  • Mentions on other sites, such as local press, partners or associations.

Measurement

  • A monthly test. You ask the assistants the same customer questions each month and record whether you are named.

How to use this list

Go through each item and mark it done, partly done or missing. Fix identity and website items first, because everything else builds on them. Then plan one trust item per month.
