Homeowners ask assistants who to call when something breaks. Assistants tend to name providers with clear services, a defined service area, visible licensing and consistent listings and reviews. A recommendation cannot be guaranteed.
What customers ask AI about home service businesses
Replace the brackets with your own city, service and business name. These are the kinds of questions worth testing.
- "Emergency plumber near me"
- "Who fixes a furnace that stopped working in [city]"
- "How much does an electrician cost in [city]"
- "Best HVAC company in [city]"
- "Is [company name] reliable"
What assistants need to know about your business
- Emergency and same-day pages. State clearly whether you offer them and when.
- Service area by name. The towns and zip areas you cover.
- Licenses and insurance, stated as text where your state requires it.
- Pricing information. What a call-out costs and what changes the price.
- One page per service, such as drain cleaning, water heaters, AC repair and panel upgrades.
Mistakes we see often
- One page that lists every trade you offer.
- No service area, only "local to you".
- Phone number that differs between the site and directories.
- Reviews that never mention the service or the city.

A note on claims
Licensing and advertising rules differ by trade and state. Check what applies to you. No one can guarantee that an AI assistant will mention your business. The steps above make it easier for assistants to identify and describe you.
